Abstract
This paper proposes a compact antenna design with wireless communication. The antenna is compatible with the millimeter-wave (mm-wave) of the 5th generation (5G) band. The design consists of a modified circular-shaped patch on a Rogers RT/Droid 5880 substrate having relative permittivity Ɛɤ=2.2 and dielectric loss tangent of δ=0.0009 with overall dimensions of 4x4x0.152 mm3 with the partial ground plane. The proposed antenna is further extended into 8 elements multiple input multiple output (MIMO) antenna array and a chain-shaped strip is used to achieve isolation and to match impedance between the antennas. Additionally, the proposed design offers a wide bandwidth of 16.5 GHz from 17.8 GHz to 33.6 GHz.
